Creating biomaterials
More and more designers and researchers are working with organic materials. There are several ways to approach the material problem: abundant materials from organic tissues - such as food waste - can be used as fibers, or microorganisms can be used as binding factors for materials.
In this workshop, the Berlin-based designer Ayse Esin Durmaz will show you how you can produce various biomaterials (e.g. bioplastics, kombucha leather and mycelium) yourself.
