At the beginning of June, we finally celebrated the maker scene in all its facets at the Maker Faire Vienna again! A great weekend with many inspiring talks, projects of makers & hands-on stations lies behind us. This time we even had a guest of honor from the USA - Dale Dougherty, founder of Make Magazine and Maker Faire, visited this year's Maker Faire Vienna!
It's great that so many of you stopped by the Happylab booth, visited the makers from our community and participated in the Nerdy Derby. Thanks to all makers, visitors, partners & volunteers - you made Austria's biggest DIY festival an unforgettable experience again!
We had great fun organizing the event as a co-host. Photos from Day 1 & Day 2 of the event can be found on the Maker Faire Vienna Facebook page.
We will of course keep you posted on what's next for Maker Faire Vienna!
DAle Dougherty At Happylab
After his visit at Maker Faire Vienna, Maker Faire founder Dale Dougherty also visited us at Happylab in the days after the event! Of course, we took the opportunity to show him our makerspace, chatted with him about extraordinary maker projects and spent a very nice day together. Dale's schedule also included an interview with "Die Presse"-editor Teresa Schaur-Wünsch. You can find the very readable article here!
Dale in his interview about Happylab:
"This place is really special. Vienna is really lucky to have it. It's hard to keep something going for such a long time. The people here really have a vision of what they can contribute to society. All are welcome!"
Thanks for visiting us all the way from California, Dale!
