Makers wanted for study on sustainability & Circularity in makerspaces

Happylab is part of a research study in collaboration with The Technical University of Denmark and the Danish Design Center on how to improve the sustainability and circularity of makers’ products and practices in makerspaces. You can help to advance to work in this fiel!

What we need from you?

  • You need to work on one ore more projects in our Makerspace in spring 2023 where you would like to explore circular opportunities
  • You will sign a consent form prior to answering a first survey.
  • After that, you will receive a journal to fill out and work on for a voluntary amount of time. Once you’re done using it, you will answer the second survey.
  • Additionally, you could be asked to do an interview, but this is also voluntary and will depend on whether time allows for it and if you agree to it.

The study is conducted by Therese Balslev in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark, the Danish Design Center (DDC) and Happylab. Therese is a design engineer researching how design-driven approaches to complex societal issues can aid the green and circular transition.

Participation in the study is voluntary and not compensated - but you can expect to gain new insights into new and more ways of working with circular economy in your everyday practice that could benefit your future work as a maker. You will also help us to improve (circular) practices in makerspaces - not only in Austria, but all over the world. Your participation would be a great help to advance the work in this field!

If you would like to participate in the study, please sign up as soon as possible using the button above. Therese will then get back to you with more info!
